A lacewing is an INSECT of the families
Hemerobiidae (the brown lacewings) and
Chrysopidae (the green lacewings) of the
order Neuroptera. Found throughout the world,
lacewings are so called because of the
intricate veining of their two pairs of
semi-transparent wings. They have narrow
bodies and long thin antennae.
